	Sara Pasternacki (she/her) is a transdisciplinary artist,performer and writer. Her work moves between embodied movement,songwriting,care and storytelling.
Her practice arises from her interest in creating bridges between our inner and outer worlds, to play and bring into the physical realm people's desires, fantasies, stories and experiences.
For her projects her main concern is to create work that stimulates people’s imagination through environments that evoke the feeling of intimacy and conscious action. Exploring practices of care and rituals, her research finds its form and shapes in performance, drawing, installation and sculpture.
Sara created alongside Sidney Tan and Ana Oliveira the Collective Sal, a collaborative project that researches performance processes by creating performance practice jams/readings/sharing circles. They’ve collaborated with P.A.R.T.S, De Markten, Canapé, Palmerston and Degarage. Their collective is currently based in Metarage, a performance residency space in the heart of Brussels.
In the past years Sara has curated group exhibitions between Brussels and Caldas da Rainha. She’s designed, written and drawn for two publications, namely topo.grafiaaa collective’s first edition of a multilingual zine (2024) and most recently Weaving Mushrooms alongside Sahoko Yoshino (2025).

&#38;nbsp;Sara Pasternacki (ela) é uma artista portuguesa nascida no ano 2000. Em 2022 finalizou a sua licenciatura no curso de Artes Plásticas na Escola Superior de Artes e Design nas Caldas da Rainha. A sua prática artística pretende desenvolver-se estabelecendo uma ponte entre o mundo interior de cada individuo e o mundo exterior, o qual partilhamos em coletivo. Através desta exploração ela pretende brincar e extrair desses mundos os desejos, fantasias, histórias e experiências das pessoas, transportando-os para o espaço físico.
 Desde o início da sua licenciatura que Sara se tem envolvido com diversos projetos colaborativos, tendo constituído a associação de estudantes da ESAD.cr onde realizou workshops de performance, escrita criativa e exposições. Nestas iniciativas Sara em conjunto com os seus amigos e colegas, desenvolveram espaços de comunhão onde as pessoas podiam criar novas relações entre si bem como explorar e partilhar diferentes vertentes artísticas e sociais.
 Na sua exploração artística, um dos valores mais importantes é a criação de trabalho que move e estimula a imaginação das pessoas através de ambientes que invocam um sentimento de intimidade e ativação do corpo e da mente. A sua pesquisa encontra forma pelos meios da performance, instalação, escultura e vídeo.

We write a poem,

we say it out loud
maybe, we sing it?

We break it into lines, 

then we break those lines into thin stripes,

then we break those stripes into tiny pieces!

Break, break, break.

We break the breaking…

And then, comes the mending.

Paced by our own attention,

we play,

we dance.

In a joyful overlapping

while dancing to a poem-song,

tiny, tender creatures of fabric and rice peek at us.

They join.

We’re singing together,

we listen to them,

we are circling!

And we are changing form!

An object-organ-instrument

much dear and warm. 

We take its pulse,

unfolding a rhythm.

A mindful pace -

We begin to sing.

&#38;nbsp;A performance piece concerning the poetics of sound and gesture, through active listening and play. Born from an ongoing collaboration, Coisas que Soam is a visual (re)search into points of contact between sound, movement and objects. This shared universe was guided by three words: pedra, ponte, rio (stone, bridge, river) - together they created a poem, a song. Drawing from practices of improvisation, storytelling and puppetry, we developed game-like structures through which we perform. 

 In this performance, we move with two tiny fabric bags as we listen to a poem play. We play and manipulate them, activating their animism. Together we navigate through the three symbols present in the poem. Articulating the energies of giving and receiving, expansion and contraction, of touching and being touched, the performance shelters both the individual and collective movement. Shifting the audience’s focus from object to bodies, from bodies to object.
In closeness, the contours are blurred and we navigate ambiguity, with care and warmth.

What are we feeding? Why are we here? What do you want to give? What are you receiving? Where is it coming from? Do you think with your mouth? Did someone make it for you? Do you sometimes make it for yourself? What stayed? Did you bring it with you? Do you miss it? Do you miss them? Can you share it with others? Do you want more? Did you have enough? Are you going inside? Is it there? Can you find it?

À Flor de Pele is a portuguese expression that directly translates to “flower of the skin” it is about feeling emotions so present as if they were at the surface of the skin, where skin is as soft and fragile as a flower, and you could be on the verge of blooming or exploding.&#38;nbsp;Drawing from the emotions felt by the experiences of immigration and loss, a space of warmth is created, conjuring memories of friendship, home and community. Embracing the present and the past with stories of people and the knowledge received from them.&#38;nbsp;In this performance, we meditate on practices of care, by evoking memories and rituals deriving from our origins, objects and foods carried through time along with their stories of grief and love.

	&#38;nbsp;Farinha Mágica (Magic Flour) is a performance developed in collaboration with Ana Oliveira. We seeked to explore the realm of dreams and it’s connection with the act of materializing thought or intention into material form. We wanted to create an interactive sculpture that evoked the maleable quality of flour by approaching it as a material in which dreams can be given shape. The performance started with the announcement of the collective recipe we were about to make together. Which goes as follows:


&#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;RECIPE FOR DREAMING:
1.Hold the flour in your hands2.Plant a dream in the flour3.Allow the drops to make it grow4.Imagine the dream taking shape5.Place it in the landscape of dreams made of flour

As we placed water in the flour lanscape, people started to gather, slowly leaving their dreams with us.&#38;nbsp;As a result we collected the dreams of the audience members and attatched them together in a bulk of flour. It sits until this day in our fridge, waiting for many more to join it there, while it waits for the next transformation of it’s body.
This projects hopes to travel and collect many more dreams of people, bringing this dough together and plant it in the soil in which we walk and dream in.

	 &#38;nbsp; Poço (Well) is a performance that derives from the desire to reflect upon the process of art-making. I filled up six bowls with water and placed the following objects inside of them:
- Apron- Cloth- Peach- Knife- Small Red Spool and Scissors
My two friends, Teresa and Lara, read simualtaneously passages of the notebooks I’ve been writing in for the past 4 years. They contained reflections towards my own practice, ideas that emerged, small poems and thoughts. While they read, I would perform small tasks with the objects inside the bowls such as drinking, dressing up, washing their faces and eating.
 These actions established a connection with the texts and were performed as a response to them.I intended to create an image of the&#38;nbsp;inside of one’s own mind by separating body and mind from each other,&#38;nbsp;allowing thoughts to be heard through the voices of Teresa and Lara.

A BRINCAR,video, 2022

&#38;nbsp;Playing is a video-performance made in collaboration with Sander Thijs. In this performance we were interested in exploring the humoristic dimension through the body, by building and diving into the small narratives that emerged from the moment. The ways in which we moved was essentially guided by the music.
 This piece comes from the intention of bringing a form of play into the work, where characters and situations emerge intuitively. Invoking and experimenting with the suggestiveness of the reality around us, where objects and space are reinvented in order to inscribe themselves in the narrative of the moment. This gesture is a proposal that aims to visit and incorporate the child that exists within us. A re-encounter with the purest and simplest form of creating through the pleasure that exists in the exercise of shared imagination.
